WINGMAN is for EVERYONE, including myself. I am the designer, a 58 year old male with scars on both knees from three knee surgeries, who has been in product design, in one form or another, for over 35 years. I continue to participate in the forms of recreation I love: mountain biking, snowboarding, windsurfing, and rowing. At the end of the day, on any given weekend, when I'm sore and tired and on occasion, suffering from a minor injury; nature calls and WINGMAN eases my pain.
WINGMAN was as much for my father as it is today for me.
It was after I had seen that he (at age 87) had worn the paint off his toilet seat with his palms supporting himself while lowering and raising that I designed a toilet seat with wings - WINGMAN.
WINGMAN will always be dedicated to the memory of my father. He lived in his home of 50 years until he passed away in February 2013 at age 91. WINGMAN was a part of his master bath the last 3 years of his life. It supported his desire to age in place, which was his last great accomplishment; living independently until the very end.
